Flèche (fencing)

A Flèche (French: " Arrow " ) is a particularly speedy charge in fencing, in which the assailant throws a flash with extended arm held forward. It can also be referred to as a dive attack or running attack. The process of repelling occurs at the Flèche with the front leg as a foothold, and then the weight is shifted forward. This may initially give the impression of self- trapping omission. This movement is, however, compensated by the also forward curved leg ( swing leg ), resulting in a supported by gravity very fast first step. This first step is followed by a short sprint might of a few steps, until the enemy is in range of the weapon. Are required too many steps, the specificity of this attack style is repealed and the Flèche rather given way to a run.

In saber fencing setting of the rear foot is banned from the front and therefore the classic Flèche attack not allowed.
