Flexor digiti minimi brevis muscle (foot)

The flexor digiti minimi brevis of the foot (Latin for " short Kleinzehenbeuger " ) has a common origin with the little toe counter plate (musculus opponens digiti minimi brevis ) to:

  • The plantar (lower) side of the base of the fifth metatarsal bone,
  • The long sole ligament ( plantar longum ),
  • The tendon sheath of long peroneal muscle (musculus peroneus longus ).

Such assets are carried at the base of the proximal phalanx of the little toe. The muscle bends and abducted ( Auswärtsspreizen ) the little toe in the metacarpophalangeal joint.
