Fley

The French community Fley with 240 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) located in the arrondissement of Chalon -sur- Saône, in Saône -et -Loire region of Burgundy ( Bourgogne).

Location

Fley is located 3 kilometers east of the railway line between Paris and Lyon. The nearest city is Chalon -sur -Saône, which is accessible via the D983 and D977, and 25 km to the northeast lies.

History

In the 18th century, was the name of the present-day town of Fley still Flagy.

Population

The population of the town has nearly doubled in the three decades from 1962 to 1990 and increased in the 1990s by a further 25%. However, in the current decade, the population has declined slightly.
