Floorball World Championships

The floorball world championship is organized regularly by the Floorball Federation IFF tournament to determine the world champion of women and men. It takes place every two years in even-numbered years for the men and in the odd for women. It was first held in 1996 and replaced the Floorball Championship which was created in 1994 and 1995 carried out twice. For juniors, the U-19 World Floorball Championship will be held.

Mode

Since the 2010 World Championships for men and 2011 for women is considered a new mode for the world championships. While there has been played in different divisions, there is now a continental qualification system similar to the Football World Cup.

The five best teams in the last world championships, which also includes the home team should include, directly qualify for the World Championships. The remaining teams must demonstrate their participation in continental qualification groups.

With respect to the classification in the draw pots for the group allocation to the World Cup is the IFF World Ranking, which is based on each of the last two World Championships.
