Florence Benoît-Rohmer

Florence Benoît- Rohmer ( born September 20, 1952 in Strasbourg) is a Professor of Public Law at the Université Robert Schuman (URS ) in Strasbourg. Currently, she is also Secretary General of the European Inter University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation ( EIUC ), a company incorporated in Venice on September 15, 2002 multicultural institution for the promotion of human rights.

She has a Master of Public Law, a master's degree in Community law. She received her Ph.D. in political science at the Université Robert Schuman (URS ). Florence Benoît- Rohmer was Dean of the Law Faculty of the University Robert Schuman in Strasbourg from April 2000 to August 2003. In 2003, she became the President of the Université Robert Schuman (URS ).

She is director of the Master's program in the field of Human Rights at Strasbourg University and was Vice President of the EIUC 2002 to 2008 and as a French national director. The European Master's in Human Rights and Democratisation ( E.MA ) it serves since its inception in 1997.

Prof. Benoît- Rohmer has acted as a human rights researcher for the Euro Europe and the EU, was a member of the European Network of Independent Experts on Fundamental Rights of the European Commission and is currently President of the Scientific Committee of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights. She is also a member of the scientific committees of several international journals in the field of human rights, especially the rights of minorities.

Prof. Benoît- Rohmer's research interests cover, among other things from the study of the European Charter of Fundamental Rights and the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and the rights of national minorities.

Florence Benoit- Rohmer wrote hundreds of articles, mainly on issues of European law, human rights and public freedom. She has published books on constitutional law, human rights and the law of the Council of Europe. She received the Laurea honoris causa of the University of St. Clement of Ohrid (Sofia, Bulgaria) and the University of Dimitri Cantens (Bucharest, Romania).
