Floral nose bat ( Anthops ornatus )

The floral nose bat ( Anthops ornatus ) is a species of bat in the family of circular sheet tabs ( Hipposideridae ).

Named giving characteristic is the folded, resembling a flower nose leaf. This is orange - yellow in color, while the rest of the fur is gray. These animals can reach a body length of about 47 to 50 millimeters, an animal weighing eight grams. The tail is compared with other rotary blade noses very short.

Floral nose bats live in the Solomon Islands, Choiseul, Santa Isabel and Guadalcanal and Bougainville. Their habitat are forests up to 200 meters in height.

So far, less than ten specimens of this species were found on the lifestyle, little is known accordingly. Presumably, feed the animals from insects.
