Font-rubí

Font rubí is a Catalan municipality in the province of Barcelona, in northeastern Spain. It is located in the comarca of Alt Penedès.

History

The historical origin of the village is already authenticated 983 Count castle of Font - rubí on the Puig de Castellot ( 791 m). He served the supervision of a nearby passport between the plateau of the Segarra and the level of the Penedès. The castle was destroyed in the aftermath of the War of the Spanish Succession ( 1701-1714 ). During the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) the town was temporarily called Guardiola del Penedès.
