Fontcouverte-la-Toussuire

Fontcouverte la Toussuire ( until 1987 Fontcouverte ) is a municipality with 593 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the French Savoie département in the Rhône -Alpes. It is located east of Grenoble in the Maurienne, approximately 45 km ( straight line ).

In addition to the 1160 m high settlement focus Fontcouverte the municipality covers some hamlets and isolated farms as well as the winter sports resort of La Toussuire, which at 1750 meters altitude on the eastern slope of the Tête de Bellard, a survey of the Arvan - Villard massif extends. La Toussuire belongs to the winter sports resort Domaine des Sybelles ski lift with 10 stations and 310 km of slopes.
