Football Association of Maldives

The Football Association of Maldives (FAM ) ( German: Football Association of Maldives) is the national football of the Maldives.

It is under the influence of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and thus of the Maldivian government and is responsible for the control and organization in football. So the football association organizes among other things, the Dhivehi League and other leagues and the national cup competition and is responsible for the Maldives national football team.

The FAM was founded in 1982, and joined in 1986 by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association ( FIFA) and the Asian Football Confederation ( AFC). The organization has its headquarters in the capital of Maldives, Male. President in July 2008 Ali Azim, Vice President Mohamed Rasheed.
