History

In 1919 Ernst victory Ling under his name a drive belt factory in Hanover. Shortly thereafter, he began with the production of flat belts made of leather. In the early 1920s were chrome leather high-edged belt, which consisted of upended and riveted leather straps made . In the early 1940s a multi-layer flat belts made of nylon and suede patent was applied for under the brand Extremultus. With an efficiency of 98% and more so could the energy efficiency compared to conventional belt and chain drives are significantly increased.

In the years of the German economic miracle after the Second World War automation and rationalization were key issues. During this time developed Hellmut victory Ling, the son of the founder, at the suggestion of Keksherstellers Bahlsen a lightweight conveyor belt for the internal material flow. This new band, since then marketed under the brand name Transilon was comparatively thin and light - but this stretch resistance, dimensionally stable, low noise running and on top of that tough and durable. The light conveyor belt needed a much smaller plant technology and thus only a fraction of the space. The automation in areas such as parcel distribution or wholesale bakeries thus became possible.

In 1956, the company to establish subsidiaries and associated companies abroad began. Early companies were established in the USA, Switzerland, Mexico, Japan, Italy, France, Sweden, the Netherlands, Denmark, Australia, Austria and Spain. Later, Canada, China, Malaysia, New Zealand, India, Korea, Belgium, UK, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary, Ireland, Russia, Turkey, Singapore, Indonesia, Brazil and Chile were added.

In 1971 the world's first production facility for three meter wide conveyor belt material was purchased. Since 1999, conveyor and processing belts can be made up to a width of 4.5 meters in the calendering process.

Several hundred different belt types with specific properties for different industries and applications have been developed over time. New product groups such as plastic modular belts and plastic toothed belt made the company gradually to complete supplier in the belt. 1994, the shares were taken over by the Swiss company Forbo International SA. 2007 from Siegling Belting the company Forbo Movement system.
