Foregut

As foregut ( Proenteron ) is called the mouth end portion of the digestive tract during fetal development. It extends from the mouth of the bay to the midgut.

The foregut arises - as well as the rest of the digestive tract - from the endoderm. This folds first to intestinal channel, which joins the primitive gut tube and is thus separated from the yolk sac. These intestinal system can then be divided into three sections. The front section - the anterior intestinal bay - extends from the anterior intestinal portal to the pharyngeal membrane ( membrana stomatopharyngealis ). This anterior intestinal bay formed by the longitudinal growth of the foregut.

From the foregut of the pharynx arise ( pharynx ), larynx, esophagus, stomach and the front part of the duodenum (duodenum ) to the confluence of the bile duct. By sprouting from the foregut also arise trachea and lungs.
