Formiga (footballer)

Miraildes Maciel Mota, short Formiga ( Portuguese: " Ant" ) (born 3 March 1978 in Salvador, Bahia) is a Brazilian football player. She currently plays for São José EC.

National

Formiga played for Brazil in the World Cups 1995, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011, and was used in 21 of 26 games in which they scored a goal. In 2007, she reached the final in which Brazil the German national team was defeated 0-2. She is the only player who since 1996 occurred in all Olympic football tournaments for women to use and currently with 24 games Olympic record player. They scored three goals. 2004 and 2008 they were beaten Brazil respectively in the match for the gold medal the U.S. team. She is the first South American player who is listed by FIFA with 100 caps. After she had ever reached the semi-finals and last twice the finals at the first four tournaments with Brazil, she divorced in 2012 already in the quarter- finals 0-2 against world champions Japan.
