Fornasetti

Pierro Fornasetti ( born November 10, 1913 in Milan, Italy, † in October 1988 ) was an Italian painter, sculptor, craftsman and interior designer.

Life

Pierro Fornasetti received in 1930 a scholarship from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. After two years studying painting, he was expelled from school, but remained active as a painter in Milan. In 1933 he participated in an exhibition for the first time. At the Milan Triennale, he exhibited painted silk scarves.

The years 1943-1946 spent Fornasetti in Swiss exile.

In 1959 he received the Neiman Marcus Award.

Throughout his life Fornasetti created more than 11,000 different art objects. His trademark was the woman's face, which he used in the series " Tema e Variazioni ".
