Foster & Lloyd

Foster and Lloyd were an American country music duo consisting of Radney Foster ( born July 20, 1959 in Del Rio, Texas) and Bill Lloyd ( born December 6, 1955 in Fort Hood, Texas).

Getting Started

After a first experience in small bands Radney Foster and Bill Lloyd began her professional career in the early eighties as a songwriter. Both worked for the same Nashville music publisher. From 1986, they decided to write and compose together.

Career

After initial successes they did a year later together to form a duo. Their first single, Crazy Over You, reached number five on the country charts. Some follow- productions managed high rankings charts.

Their self-produced albums all contain original compositions, were also successful. The published in 1989 Faster And Llouder even managed to crossover into pop music and was awarded with gold. In 1992, after completion of their third album, they parted due to musical differences. Foster felt more attracted to the Country, Lloyd to pop music. Both tried a solo career, with Radney Foster was clearly successful. Bill Lloyd eventually worked again as a songwriter and studio musician.

Despite their undeniable closeness to Pop Foster And Lloyd be reckoned with their rockabilly sound to the new traditionalists who stopped the decline of country music from the mid-eighties and fresh air brought into the scene. Much like the duo The O'Kanes they contributed to a rise in the musical levels.
