Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition

The Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition ( FPMT ) is a network of Buddhist centers of the Gelug tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. It was founded in 1975 by Lama Thubten Yeshe ( 1935-1984 ) and Thubten Zopa Rinpoche ( born 1946 ) founded in Kathmandu.

To FPMT has approximately 150 Buddhist centers, projects and social services in 33 countries, as well as the publishing Wisdom Publications. Since 2006, the main center of FPMT in Portland (Oregon ).
