Features
The 18 cm long Fox Sparrow is a stocky bird. The eastern and northern populations are oberseits rust colored brown and white with tan on our side stripes. In the western population occurs a dark brown or gray to rusty brown instead of drawing. The song of the Fox Sparrow is melodic, she even sings in the winter of exposed waiting.
Occurrence
The Fox Sparrow lives in the bushes, thickets and mixed forests in many parts of Canada and the United States. In the cold season the way pulls further south.
Behavior
The Fox Sparrow holds primarily on the ground, where she studied in the ground or between leaves for insects, spiders and other invertebrates. Even vegetable food, such as buds, related to food.
Reproduction
The cup-shaped nest of twigs and grasses will be built on the ground or close to the ground in a bush. The female incubates alone two to five eggs for about two weeks out. The male helps later in feeding the young.
