Foxe Peninsula

Geographical location

The Foxe Peninsula, named after the explorer Luke Foxe, is a peninsula in the south of Baffin Island in Canada, with which the peninsula is connected only by a narrow land bridge. The Foxe Peninsula belongs administratively to Qikiqtaaluk region in Nunavut.

North of the peninsula lies the Foxe Basin, west of the Foxekanal and south begins the Hudson Strait. Also south of the peninsula is a small island on which the settlement of Cape Dorset is. The westernmost point of the peninsula is called Cape Queen.

The peninsula is 241 km long and 80 to 161 km wide.
