Foxy (band)

Foxy was a five-piece American Latin Dance-/Discogruppe. It was founded in Miami ( Florida) in 1976.

The band consisted of the following members:

  • Ish "Angel" Ledesma ( born October 2, 1952, Cuba): vocals, guitar
  • Richard " Richie" Puente ( † 18 July 2004): Percussion; He was the son of bandleader Tito Puente
  • Charlie Murciano: Keyboard
  • Arnold Paseiro: Bass
  • Joe Galdo: Drums

Career

The band was set up by the producer Henry Stone on his label TK Records as the successor of KC and the Sunshine Band. The greatest success they achieved with the single Get Off from the eponymous album from 1978. Recording reached the Billboard Hot 100 number 9 and held in the U.S. Soul Charts for two weeks at No. 1

With the follow-up single Hot Numbers and published with the same title album in 1979 they took a further hit in the United States. After the release of three albums on TK Records, the band split up again.

Ledesma formed later, the band oxo ( 1983) and together with his wife, Lori L. and his sister Lezlee Livrano the band Company B ( 1986).
