Fracastorius (crater)

Fracastorius is an impact crater in the east of the Moon front, on the southern edge of the Mare Nectaris, north of the crater Piccolomini. The rim is heavily eroded and flooded the interior of the lavas of Mare, the northern border is gone.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Italian doctor.
