Frameworx Shared Information/Data Model

The Shared Information & Data Model ( SID) is a framework for the telecommunications industry. Several major telecommunications companies, members of the organization are Telemanagement Forum, support about this merger, the development of a generic information and data model. SID represents, according to its authors a logical view of objects (entities ) that are within a telecommunications company of interest. In addition, the relations (associations ) are defined between the entities.

The SID framework requires an extension or specialization to meet the needs of telecommunications companies.

Formation

The SID model was released in 2000 and is a derivative of DEN- ng V3.5. Since late 2008, it is available in version 8.

Structure

The model attempts to provide a universal language for describing management information available in the telecommunications industry. As part of the standard NGOSS SID complements the NGOSS elements eTOM, TAM and TNA. The SID model is object-oriented and imaged with the modeling language UML. In the SID version 7 are contained in 8 domains about 1000 entities.

The framework provides for an extension of the entities for individual requirements according to predefined design patterns.

The documentation of the SID model suggests that all aspects of a telecommunications company from the perspective of the establishment ( Telecom operator) will be covered. The domains contain ABEs ( Aggregated Business Entities ) on a level 1, containing at other levels individual entities and other ABEs.
