Frammuseum

The Frammuseum (Norwegian Frammuseet ) is a Norwegian museum in Oslo.

The museum was opened on 20 May 1936. Museum dedicated to the history of the Norwegian polar expeditions, especially the three great Norwegian polar explorers Fridtjof Nansen, Otto Sverdrup and Roald Amundsen. Also located in the Museum images of the fauna of the polar regions, such as polar bears and penguins. The centerpiece of the museum is the research vessel Fram. Visitors can tour the ship fitted with an original design. There, the three Arctic voyages of the Fram are presented; still there is an extensive exhibition on the Arctic and Antarctic regions. Since May 2009, the exhibition will be shown in Gjoa Frammuseum, with the Amundsen first went through the long-sought Northwest Passage.
