Francesco De Gregori

Francesco De Gregori ( born April 4, 1951 in Rome ) is an Italian Cantautore ( singer-songwriter ).

Francesco De Gregori is one of Italy's most important musicians of the past 30 years. Influenced by musicians such as Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Simon and Garfunkel and his Italian model Fabrizio de André, he advanced with his friends Antonello Venditti and Lucio Dalla in the 1960s during the Italian student movement, one of the most listened Author ( social) critical songs. Together with them, and another Roman cantautori he founded the so-called " Scuola Romana " ( Roman School ).

The albums " Rimmel " of 1975 and "Titanic" in 1983 (inspired by an eponymous poem by Hans Magnus Enzensberger ) become the highlight of his work. Among his greatest achievements include the songs "Viva l' Italia " (1979), " Titanic " (1982), "Alice" (1973 ), " Rimmel " (1975), " La donna cannone " (1983), " Niente da capire "(1974) and" La leva calcistica della classe '68 "(1982).

In 2010 he gave concerts again after over 30 years with his colleague and friend, singer Lucio Dalla.
