Francesco Fidanza

Francesco Fidanza (* 1749 in Città di Castello, Rome, † February 4, 1819 in Milan ) was an Italian painter.

Life

Fidanza, a pupil of Eugène Delacroix who later lived in Paris and died in 1819 in Milan. Images of sea ports in Italy for the Viceroy Eugene, now partly in the Pinacoteca di Brera at Milan, his most important works.

His brother Gregorio was also a landscape painter and pupil of Delacroix, then happy imitator of Claude Lorrain and Salvator Rosa, so that he made very good business in alleged originals of the two masters to England. He died around 1820.
