Francesco Maria Preti

Francesco Maria Preti (* July 27, 1701 in Castelfranco Veneto, † December 23, 1774 in Castelfranco Veneto ) was an Italian architect.

His most important works include the Villa Pisani in Stra and the Cathedral of Castelfranco, for which he drew the plans in 1723. Preti developed Andrea Palladio's principles of harmonious proportions on. His theoretical findings were published in 1780 in the Elementi di architettura.
