Francesco Melzi d'Eril

Francesco Melzi d' Eril (* March 6, 1753 in Milan, † January 16, 1816 in Bellagio ) was an Italian politician and writer.

Francesco Melzi d' exile was from 1802 Vice- President of the First Italian Republic, 1805 he was Grand Chancellor of the Kingdom of Italy. He was a personal friend of Napoleon Bonaparte and was informed of this in 1807 the title of Duke of Lodi. He was a member of the Accademia della Crusca since 1813.
