Francesco Rognoni Taeggio

Francesco Rognoni Taeggio ( * after 1570 in Milan, † after 1626 ) was an Italian composer and violinist.

Life and work

Francesco Rognoni, son of originating from the Val Talegggio musician Riccardo Rognoni, initially worked as Kapellmeister of Prince Francesco Filiberto of Masserano, in 1613, he was in the service of the rulers of Milan and since 1620 he has been mentioned as a conductor at the church of S. Ambrogio. Rognoni was described by his contemporaries, the writer Girolamo Borsieri, an excellent flautist and violinist.
