Francesco Turini

Francesco Turini (* around 1598 in Prague, † 1656 in Brescia) was an Italian composer and organist.

Life

Turini Father Gregorio Turini (ca. 1560 to 1600) was a singer and cornetto at the court of Emperor Rudolf II in Prague. After the premature death of his father, Emperor Rudolf II supported the twelve-year Turini, by the employment as court organist. After the death of the Emperor, to Turini 1612 turned first to Venice, then to Padua, where he. Services from the abbot of the Benedictine monastery in Leno, Gianfrancesco Morosini ( 1595-1628 ), the same canons of the Cathedral of Brescia, was 1620 was Turini cathedral organist in Brescia, the hometown of his father.

Turini composed many masses, motets, and three books of polyphonic madrigals.
