Francis Edward Bache

He enjoyed in England an extensive training as a pianist and organist ( among other things was William Sterndale Bennett three years his teacher ). Bache continued his musical education in 1853 in Leipzig, where he worked with Moritz Hauptmann. In 1855, he became ill with tuberculosis, which did not recover until his death in 1858. When he died at the age of 24, he left behind a considerable number of compositions, including a manuscript of the Piano Concerto in E Major. It has been kept in the library of the Royal Academy of Music. This was published in 2006 by Hyperion Records; probably it is the premiere and the premiere recording.
