In his Anatomia hepatis Glisson has described for the first time later named after him Glissonsche Triassic.

He described the rickets and the Glisson's sling is named after him, which he introduced in 1650 and attached as a padded strap to chin and back of head, the cervical spine is stretched and relieved (eg dislocations ).

Glisson 1677 developed the first coherent three-dimensional color, the precursor of all color systems of modern times.
