Francis Nolan

Francis Nolan is Professor of Phonetics at the University of Cambridge and Director of the Department of Linguistics.

From 1993 to 1995 he was Managing Director of the International Phonetic Association, 1999-2003 Vice- President. His professional focus is on phonetics and phonology, as well as forensic linguistics.

For the Harry Potter films, he designed the language of Parseltongue.
