Life

On 7 July 2003, Pope John Paul II appointed titular bishop of Remesiana and auxiliary bishop in Detroit. The Archbishop of Detroit, Adam Joseph Cardinal Maida, donated to him on 12 August of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the President of the Governorate of Vatican City, Cardinal Edmund Casimir Szoka, and emeritus auxiliary bishop in Detroit, Walter Joseph Schoenherr.
