Francis Webb (engineer)
Francis William Webb ( born May 21, 1836 † June 4, 1906 ) was a British engineer.
As chief engineer of the London and North Western Railway ( LNWR ) was his field of work, the design and manufacturing of locomotives. In 1883 he led a 3-cylinder compound locomotive (name: Experiment ), which caused a great stir, as the two drive axles were not coupled, but this led to operational difficulties. He joined in 1904 by his position.
