Franco Donatoni

Donatoni ( born June 9, 1927 in Verona, † August 17, 2000 in Milan ) was an Italian composer.

He studied in Milan, Bologna and Rome and worked thereafter as a professor at the conservatories in Bologna and Milan. In 1965 he was offered a professorship at the Conservatory in Turin.

The musical style of the avant-garde of his contemporaries, he was rather far away, it kept tonal forms. His work encompasses works of various genres and instrumentations, including a ballet, a symphony strings, chamber music and music for keyboard instruments.
