François Louis Bourdon

François -Louis Bourdon ( born January 11, 1758 in Rouy -le- Petit ( Oise ); † July 2, 1798 in Cayenne ) was a politician during the French Revolution. To avoid confusion with the politician Louis Jean Joseph Léonard Bourdon de la Cronière, he was called Bourdon de l' Oise.

Life

François -Louis Bourdon was born the son of a tax collector. He studied law and worked since May 1783 as a prosecutor at the Paris Parliament.

August 10, 1792 Bourdon participated on the Tuileries on storm. In September 1792 his home department elected him to the National Convention. Bourdon initially approached the Girondins, later moving to the mountain party and voted in January 1793 for the execution of Louis XVI. After Bourdon acted as " representative in Mission " from March to May 1793 Orne, in June and July in New Orleans until his dismissal on August 28, 1793 at the Coast Army in La Rochelle. After his return to Paris he joined close relations with the indulgent and opposed open the Welfare Committee. He opposed the laws of the Glorious First - June 10, 1794 and participated in the coup of 9 Thermidor II (27 July 1794). The National Convention was due to the application of Bourdon (5 August 1794) all political prisoners of the " reign of terror " free.

François -Louis Bourdon turned into the moderate royalists and was elected in October 1795 in the Council of Five Hundred. After the coup of the 18th Fructidor V (4 September 1797) he was banished to Cayenne, where he soon after died on 2 July 1798.
