François Regnault

François Regnault (* November 1938 in Paris) is a French writer, translator, and philosopher.

Regnault studied with Louis Althusser and taught first at Prytanée national militaire, from 1964 to 1970 at the Lycée de Reims, finally, at the Université de Vincennes, here first at the philosophical, from 1974 to the psychoanalytic faculty.

In 1976 he founded with Brigitte Jaques- Wajeman Compagnie Pandora. Since then he has continuously worked for the theater, as a translator, as a writer, sometimes referred to as a dramaturge. From 1991 to 1997 he headed with Jaques- Wajeman the Théâtre de la Commune in Aubervilliers. From 1994 to 2001 he taught at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique. In addition, he also worked with Emmanuel Demarcy - Mota at the Comédie de Reims. He translated among others for Gallimard Wedekind's Spring Awakening and 1996 for the Éditions Théâtrales Ibsen's Peer Gynt.
