Frank Bernasko

Frank George Bernasko ( born December 7, 1930; † 3 June 2010) was a Ghanaian military and politicians. Under Ignatius Kutu Acheampong, he was involved in the military coup of 1972 that overthrew the government of Kofi Busia Abrefa.

Bernasko had at the time of the coup, the military rank of Colonel ( Colonel) holds. The governing body of the military junta under Acheampong, the National Redemption Council, Bernasko had the Office of the Commissioner for Cocoa Affairs ( Commissioner for Cocoa Affairs ) held.

After the transition of the military government in a democracy in 1978 Bernasko participated as a candidate of the Action Congress Party participated in the presidential elections of 1979 and finished fourth out of ten candidates for the first ballot behind William Ofori - Atta in third place, Victor Owusu and Hilla Aeschlimann, later president of Ghana. Overall Bernasko reached 9.4 percent of the vote. The Action Party won at the be held in the same year the National Assembly elections 10 of 140 seats.
