Frank Blunstone

Frank Blunstone ( born October 17, 1934 in Crewe) is an English former football player and football coach.

Life and career

Blunstones great strength was his Lauffreudigkeit, so its former football mate Jimmy Greaves him., As a man with a heart the size of a cabbage Blunstone signed in 1951 a professional contract with his hometown club Crewe Alexandra. In 1953 he was transferred for a fee of 7,500 pounds to Chelsea. He made his debut in February 1953 against Tottenham Hotspur. With Chelsea in 1955 he became English champion. After two broken legs the winger had to end his playing career in 1964. International played the Englishman five times for his country. He made his debut in 1954 against Wales. After end of his career as a player, he worked as manager of various classes of Chelsea until 1969. In 1969, he became head coach of FC Brentford. For four years he was head coach, before in 1984 he again shortly took over the chair coach of the same club. He was also assistant coach of Tommy Docherty at Manchester United. He recently moved back to his native Crewe.
