Frank E. Flowers

Frank E. Flowers (full name: Frank Ewen Flowers Jr., * August 1979 in the Cayman Islands ) is a British film director, producer and screenwriter.

Life

Flowers was born the son of Frank Sr. and Eve Flowers in the Cayman Islands and grew up there. He is the grandson of businessman Clarence Flowers and has a younger sister named Dara. Originally, his family hoped that he would learn one of the occupations of the extended family holdings in the Cayman Islands. He graduated from the University of Southern California, where he attended the USC School of Cinematic Arts.

As an independent film director and screenwriter, he celebrated his breakthrough in 2003 with the short film Swallow, which was presented at the Sundance Film Festival, was acquired by HBO and won several awards. In 2004, the feature film Haven, which was shown in 2006 in selected U.S. cinemas followed. In addition Flowers filmed several music videos, including Damian Marley, Ziggy Marley, Dwight Myers, Ironik, Jessica Lowndes and Jessica Sutta. Along with Sean Ellis wrote the screenplay for the 2013 released movie Metro Manila.

Flowers was the first person who was honored with the award Rising Son of the Caribbean Heritage Organization of America.
