Frank Launder

Frank Launder ( born January 28, 1906 in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, England; † February 23, 1997 in Monte Carlo, Monaco ) was a British screenwriter, film director and film producer.

Life

Frank Launder moved to a civil service training to writing. In 1936 a longstanding collaboration with Sidney Gilliat began. Together or reciprocally with the other projects they wrote screenplays, led by director and took over starting your own production company and production responsibility. One of the famous films from the early years of their activity was Lady Vanishes directed by Alfred Hitchcock, to whom she wrote the screenplay, as well as several films by Carol Reed. Over the years, the work Launders, had been part of the beginning and crime films and historical dramas limited, increasingly Comedy substances.
