Sidney Gilliat

Sidney Gilliat (* February 15, 1908 in Edgeley, † 31 May 1994 Valle Pewsey, Wiltshire ) was a British screenwriter, film director and film producer.

Life

Sidney Gilliat first worked as a journalist and then came as assistant to writers and as Gagman the film. As co -author, he wrote his first screenplay in 1932 and was then mainly for some years in productions of Michael Balcon worked. With his colleague Frank Launder a long-term collaboration, which also included the director and production responsibility over the years in addition to writing screenplays developed at this time.
