Frank McCarthy (disc jockey)

Frank McCarthy ( born August 26, 1971) is a British radio DJ, German listeners primarily known for his Monday to Thursday 19-22 Clock radio show broadcast on BFBS Radio Germany.

Life

Frank McCarthy was born in Bellshill Scotland, but grew up mainly in Germany. His family moved in 1974 to Rheindahlen, his father worked as a vice principal at the British St. Clement School in the then still independent community Wickrathberg. 1982 we moved to Oerlinghausen. There, Frank McCarthy was sen. until its closure in 1994 head of the British Forces Service Children's Schools.

Shortly after completing his schooling volunteered Frank McCarthy two months in the BFBS studio Bielefeld, then ( October 1990), he moved to Herford and worked in the then-new broadcast center of BFBS Germany, first as an assistant and later as a presenter and producer. His own show ( Late Show 22-0 clock ) he hosted in October 1992. More shows that he served as moderator and partly also as a producer, were Saturday lunch (January to October 1993), Weekend Breakfast ( January 1994 to April 1996), Weekday Drivetime ( April 1996-April 1999 ) and Weekday Lunch ( April 1999-April 2001 ).

During his last years in Germany, he was transferred twice for several months to Pristina, where he also worked as a presenter and producer on BFBS Kosovo. Since July 2001 he has worked for BFBS UK, but was stopped repeatedly for operations by 2006. He worked as a presenter, producer and sometimes transmission conductor for the BFBS stations in the Falkland Islands, Bosnia, Belize, Gibraltar, Iraq and Cyprus. Since September 2006 he is responsible for his broadcasts exclusively in England.

Frank McCarthy 's since his seventh year an enthusiastic drummer (nicknamed " Frank Drummer" ) and has played in several bands. In addition to his radio work, he writes music reviews and works as a DJ in clubs and discos. Sometimes he produced young, unknown bands, whose promotion is particularly close to his heart.

He now lives in Buckinghamshire northwest of London, in which also the headquarters of BFBS has its headquarters.

The current broadcast

Frank McCarthy from Monday to Thursday broadcast three -hour program that bears his name, presented on Monday exclusively the Official UK Top 40 charts.
