Frank Moorhouse

Frank Moorhouse ( born December 21, 1938 in Nowra, New South Wales) is an Australian writer.

Moorhouse is one of the most important Australian writers of our time. He began his career as an editor at local newspapers and is since 1970 full-time writer. He lives in Sydney.

In 1989 he was awarded the Australian Literature Society Gold Medal for Fourty- seventeen This novel was also honored by the newspaper The Age, entitled Age Book of the Year. For Dark Palace, he received the 2001 Miles Franklin Award.

Moorhouse, an innovator in the tradition of Henry Lawson Australian short story. His style is sometimes satirical. It reflects reportage way, realistic dialogues involving the fragmentation of the modern world.
