Frank R. Stockton

Frank R. Stockton ( born April 5, 1834 in Philadelphia, † April 20, 1902 in Washington, DC) was an American writer and humorist.

  • " The lady - or the Tiger" ("? The Lady, or the Tiger" ) was his most famous short story that was first published in 1882 in the magazine The Century *. In German-speaking Stockton is relatively unknown. In Manesseplatz publishing the short story published in 1982 along with other stories from the American translated by Elisabeth Schnack.
  • The book The Bee - Man of Orn (1887 ) is a mixture of fairy tale and myth.
  • " To the North Pole and the Earth's core " was released in 1899 as an abridged version of the novel "The Great Stone of Sardis " of 1898 in the journal " Illustrirte world " as a continuation of history.
