Frankie Edgar

Frankie Edgar ( born October 16, 1981 in Toms River, New Jersey, USA as Frank James Edgar ) is an American mixed martial arts fighter. Since January 1, 2011 is his martial balance 13 wins, one defeat and one draw. Edgar 's UFC Lightweight Champion, the lightweight titleholder of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Had from the Toms River originates in New Jersey Ringer his victorious MMA debut on 29 October 2005 in Event Organizer's Ring of Combat. It was followed by two more wins in a sport fighting and another one at Ring of Combat. Then he fought twice with the organizer Reality Fighting, where he was lightweight champion.

Then Edgar came to the UFC. In his first bout in February 2007, he defeated Tyson Griffin on points. After victories over Mark Bocek and Spencer Fisher Edgar suffered at the UFC Fight Night 13 in April 2008 against Gray Maynard his first defeat. At the Fight Night 14, he then won against Hermes Franca. In the UFC 98 in May 2009, Edgar met the previous lightweight champion Sean Sherk and defeated him by unanimous decision. After defeating Matt Veach in December and his next opponent, was on 10 April 2010, a title fight against Lightweight Champion BJ Penn stated. The fight at the UFC 112 went the full distance of five rounds and at the end was Frankie Edgar as the new title holder firmly. Even the rematch in August at UFC 118 Edgar could decide for themselves. On January 1, Edgar met again on Maynard. The fight ended in a draw, and so he remained as a champion.

Because of the tie, a rematch was scheduled, this should take place at UFC 130 first on May 28, 2011, but was postponed due to injuries of both fighters. On October 8, it came at UFC 136 to the fight, Edgar was able to win by knockout in the fourth round. His next title defense was scheduled for UFC 144 on February 26, 2012 against Benson Henderson, Clay Guida after it defeated. Edgar lost the fight by decision, but it was an immediate rematch for the August 11, 2012 at UFC 150 scheduled.
