Franklin Cover

Franklin Edward Cover ( born November 20, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio; † 5 February 2006 in Englewood, New Jersey) was an American actor, especially for the role of the white neighbor " Tom Willis " in the sitcom The Jeffersons was known.

Life

Franklin Cover began his career with Shakespeare's Hamlet and Henry IV. He was later seen in many Broadway productions, such as " Any Wednesday, " "Wild Honey and " Born Yesterday. " Cover was nearly 60 years in show business. He has been involved in numerous television shows, he was most famous, however, for the neighbor role " Tom Willis " in the sitcom the Jeffersons.

Death

Cover died of pneumonia at the Lillian Booth Actor's Fund of America home in Englewood, NJ, where he resided since December 2005 after heart surgery. He leaves behind his wife Mary and two children.
