Franz- Josef " Jupp " Tenhagen ( born October 31, 1952 in Millingen, today a district of Rees ) is a former German football player and coach.

Playing career

Association

In the Bundesliga he played from 1971 to 1988 for Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, Borussia Dortmund and VfL Bochum. For Bochum he was twelve years running. Tenhagen played as a defender 457 times in the Bundesliga, scoring 26 goals.

National

He came up with three inserts in the German national team, including 1977 's 1-1 friendly draw against Brazil in the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro in front of 160,000 spectators. An injury prevented its use in the 1978 World Cup in Argentina.
