Franz Josef von Gruben

Franz Josef Freiherr von Gruben ( born February 13, 1829 in Dusseldorf, † October 23, 1888 in Regensburg ) was a lawyer, domain administrator and member of the German Reichstag.

Life

Mines attended the Friedrich- Wilhelm-Gymnasium in Cologne until 1847 and studied law and political science in Berlin and Bonn. He joined in 1850 the Royal judicial service at the Regional Court in Cologne and in 1856 appointed there to the District Court Assessor. He then worked until the autumn of 1857 at the Royal Government in Koblenz in 1858 and left the government service to take a position in the administration of the princely house of Thurn and Taxis. There, he became head of the administration as a whole, until in 1877 he retired to private life.

From 1881 until his death he was a member of the German Reichstag for the electoral district of Oberpfalz 1 ( Regensburg, Burglengenfeld, Stadtamhof ) and the German Center Party.
