Franz Kaspar Hesselbach

Franz Hessel Kaspar Bach ( also Caspar Franz Hessel Bach, born January 27, 1759 in Hammelburg, † July 24, 1816 ) was a German anatomist and surgeon.

Life

Hessel Bach was born 27 January 1759 in mutton castle and went to the local grammar school. In Fulda, he began studying philosophy and 1778 in Würzburg medicine studies. There he became a private pupil of Carl Caspar von Siebold. He was subsequently become a surgical assistant in the Julius Hospital. On 29 April 1789 he was commissioned by the Prince-Bishop Franz Ludwig the real job as a prosector. On May 14, 1807 it has issued the Würzburg School of Medicine for his services to the anatomical institute and because of its anatomical and surgical writings medical doctorate. In May 1811 he was awarded by the Senate of the Russian University of Kharkov a reputation as a professor of anatomy, physiology and legal medicine, but he declined. The same during the illness of the professor of surgery Markard and after death he gave lessons in all surgical operations and provided the place of a top surgeon in Julius Spitale until the arrival of Prof. Textor. His students include the Göttingen surgeon Konrad Johann Martin Langenbeck. On July 24, 1816 Hessel Bach died as a result of Rotlaufes.

His son Adam Kaspar Hessel Bach (1788-1856) has also become physicians.
