Franz Lefler

Franz Lefler (* 1831 in Long Bruck, Bohemia, † June 19, 1898 in Weissenbach an der Triesting ) was an Austrian painter.

Life

After studying at the Academies of Fine Arts in Vienna and Prague, Lefler was in 1858 in Vienna down. He mainly painted allegories, portraits of children, genre and history paintings, portraits, ceiling and wall paintings, and theater curtains. The summer spent Franz Lefler as well as the librettist and co-director of the Theater an der Wien, Camillo Walzel in Weissenbach an der Triesting. Franz Lefler created on some facades of hotels and villas in Weissenbach frescoes in neomanieristischem style. Franz Lefler son Henry was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, painter and stage designer.
