Franz Schalk Gold Medal

The Franz Schalk Medal in Gold is an honor that is awarded by the Vienna Philharmonic since 1963. It is named after the conductor, the first director of the Vienna State Opera and the Salzburg Festival co-founder Franz Schalk, who would have celebrated his 100th birthday in 1963.

Award criteria and motto

The medal is awarded to personalities which are on " special and " " have rendered to our orchestra professional or business relationships beyond continuous manner " normal. The motto of honoring "Consider me on my Philharmonic " - the supposedly last sentence ... by Franz Schalk
